About Flight Deck

From the Developer

I come from a family shaped by military service. My grandfather was a bomber pilot instructor in the Army Air Forces during World War II. My father began his Navy career as an F-8 Crusader pilot and was carrier-qualified on the USS Kitty Hawk. During the Vietnam era, he later served aboard the USS Hancock and USS Bon Homme Richard as mission specialist with with VF-211, briefing pilots before their combat flights. My brother served as an electronics technician in the Navy during the Persian Gulf War, deploying aboard the USS Midway and the USS Kitty Hawk.

My family's background influenced how I see service and responsibility. I was contacted by our local Honor Flight hub to see if I could help their workflows as a developer. They were struggling with spreadsheets, paper forms, and disconnected tools, and much of the coordination work was consuming energy that should have been spent with veterans.

Flight Deck grew out of that experience. It is a simple, purpose-built tool designed around how Honor Flight hubs actually operate—no bloat, no unnecessary complexity. Just what is needed to manage veterans, guardians, and trips in one place.
